Kyanite is an aluminium silicate that is a member of the silicate group of minerals. It generally occurs as elongated, bladed crystals, rarely terminated, and often embedded, as aggregates in metamorphic rock and quartz veins. This stone has a vitreous to pearly lustre. Kyanite is usually blue, but may be white, grey, green, orange, yellow, pink or nearly black. Kyanite can be found in Brazil, USA, Switzerland, Russia, Serbia, India and Kenya.
